Who Is Responsible?
Pseudofish is written and produced by Geoff Wilson.
My day job is CTO for Asia Pac at at Atex, a company serving print media for almost 30 years. I started at Atex in 2002 after some time at a dotcom that marked the end of a string of jobs for Internet Providers. I spent 2006 working for Trolltech in Brisbane, where I leant about the mobile telecomms industry from the inside.
I’m based in Melbourne, Australia
Atex has this to say about itself:
Atex is the largest systems and technology vendor serving the publishing industry today and has been a prestigious name in the industry since 1979. Our systems are installed in newspaper and magazine publishers, large and small, throughout the world – we have an enviable track record of successful installations, one-time and on-budget, and delivering solid Return On Investment for many years.
This blog spans a few of the topics I’m interested in. Some of these include:
- Design - typography, products, software, web sites, images. Good design is an art.
- Photography - strobist, landscape and nature, with a dash of city and some people for flavour.
- Snowboarding - much time spent flying down a tree run or two
- Technology - I love learning about new tech, especially functional languages and compiler theory. Odd.
- Haskell - after trying to write Haskell like code in a range of languages, I’ve conceded that I should write Haskell code in Haskell.
- Photoshop - many hours spent here is improving my photography and design skills
- Mac OS X - avid user, part time application developer
- Driving - mountains are fun to drive up as well as to photograph.
